Featuring food stalls and entertainment from around the globe, Flavours celebrates culture, traditions and heritage. Taking place in Grattan Gardens, near Prahran Market and the iconic Chapel Street, Flavours brings together Stonnington’s diverse community of more than 100 nationalities for this vibrant cultural feast.

Comedy legend Dilruk Jayasinha hosts this years’ event.

The annual Flavours festival celebrates culture, traditions and heritage from around the globe with a day of food and craft stalls, performances, interactive workshops and kids’ activities.

This year, the family-friendly event coincides with Cultural Diversity Week (18 – 26 March 2017) and showcases the rich cultural diversity of Stonnington’s local community in a wonderful exchange of culture and customs.

Audiences can expect a powerful dance performance from Te Hononga O nga lwi as they demonstrate the Haka (Maori War Dance) and a Capoeira performance and workshop from the Capoeira Filhos da Bahia School. You can take part in and enjoy Taiko (Japanese drumming), Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging), yoga and Bosnian folk dancing. Learn how to make Tibetan MoMos, take a class in traditional henna body art or Japanese Shotokan Style Karate!

Artist Jann Daly, from Smart Art, will lead your little craft enthusiasts through a kite-making workshop and the Hope Connection will teach Origami folding.

Kids can also learn about other cultures by getting involved in some fun face painting with Reconciliation Stonnington.
